Learning to Play an Instrument.

We believe that music should be available to everyone and for this reason we run both a Beginner and Training Band. These bands are for people of all abilities wanting to enjoy getting together to make music.

Dave Chapman is the conductor and tutor for both groups, and he does an amazing job with our new players. He takes them from complete beginners, and builds their confidence and ability so that they can progress into our training band, and further up into our main band.

We’re so proud of all the players in these bands and the progress they have made whilst with us.

Joining a brass band for the first time or returning to playing can be a somewhat daunting experience but with our friendly relaxed atmosphere we aim to make all new members feel welcome.

Players of all abilities, of any age are encouraged to come along every Tuesday, 7pm - 8pm for beginners, or Thursday from 7.15pm to 8pm for those with a little more experience. Here they are able to participate in a fantastic musical environment.

We will be looking in depth to improve both theoretical and practical musical ability whilst offering progression alongside our main band.

Members of our main band also attend the bands to support and encourage new players.

We are able to provide all equipment including instruments and music so joining us is available to everyone, including those facing financial hardships.
